School Council 2017-8

Our school council is made up of two children from each class from year 1 to year 6, elected by their classmates. We meet every two weeks. Recently we have raised money to buy new playground games by organising a fun run for all the children. We have helped choose food for the tuck shop and school dinners and helped interview new members of staff.

Representatives of the School Council handed in food donations to the Food Bank today, which were very gratefully received.  Thank you everyone who donated.  We are collecting again next Friday morning and every Friday until the holidays. Please click here to view the generous donations

School Council Appeal

Our School Council has chosen to support Richmond Storehouse, a Food Bank Scheme operated by the Influence Church in Richmond. The children have been told about this in assembly. The collection point for donations will be the Gazebo on the Junior Yard at the start of the school day each Friday, starting Friday 16th June and every Friday thereafter until the summer holidays. In particular we would be very grateful for donations of non-perishable items eg tins (rice pudding, soup, beans, pasta, stew, hot dogs, fruit etc) and store cupboard items like UHT milk, cereal, biscuits and noodles.

The Storehouse is currently feeding about 40 adults and children per week in our area. Food parcels cater for 2 meals per day per person per week and one adult parcel costs £12. The charity's client base has increased dramatically in recent times and the Storehouse is running desperately short of stock to meet demand. The Storehouse is funded purely by donations from businesses, the general public and also other non-profit organisations eg schools and churches so any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.
