Welcome! Exciting news for 2020 – Our friendly, child-centred RMS Nursery is now up and running. Places available for Easter, September and January starts. Visits very welcome so come along and see our multi-sensory, ‘loose parts’ and creative minds learning approach! Places also still available for September 2020 in our Foundation. Governor Profiles

Scott Woodhead

Scott Woodhead joined the Governing Body as a co-opted Governor in 2019. Scott runs an online retail group and so, brings with him a wealth of business experience which he hopes to utilise in his contribution to the growth of the school. He is really excited to be involved with such an enthusiastic and hardworking team, to bring about positive change for the community.






Jan LinsleyJan LinsleyJan Linsley

Jan Linsley, joined the Governing Body as a community governor and since 2014 has been a co-opted Governor.  I am currently the Chair of the Governing Body, having been chair of the finance and resources committee in the past.   I have a background in education and have lived and worked in the area since 1996.   I have a keen interest in ensuring all children get the best education they can, and that they enjoy doing so, and believe this will be an asset to the school.


Reverend Les Nevin

Les Nevin is a Foundation Governor and joined the governing body in September 2013. Les is the Methodist Minister in Richmond and seven other churches in the Swaledale area. Les worked for a number of years as a lecturer and Head of Department for Vocational programmes in a college of Further and Higher Education and had particular responsibility for developing aspects of the College's curriculm and for the Quality Assurance of learning programmes across the college. Les is particularly committed to ensuring the Christian Ethos of the school is present in every aspect of its work.


Nicola ScraftonNicola ScraftonNicola Scrafton

" I am a senior NHS Physiotherapist specialising in rheumatology.  I am a member of a number of rheumatology and health related groups and am active in the design and implementation of numerous multi-disciplinary, management, training and efficiency initiatives. I am an active member of Richmond Methodist Church with particular involvement in its youth work and worship ministry.  My husband, Matthew grew up in Richmond and is a Solicitor in Teesside. My son has recently joined Richmond Methodist School and my daughter will soon follow him. I am excited to be involved with the governors at Richmond Methodist School and look forward to putting my experiences to use."





Rebecca Simpson

Rebecca Simpson joined the Governing Body as a Parent Governor in March 2016. She has a background in marketing and information management and is currently a full time mother.

Rebecca has lived in Richmond for 7 years and has three young children, one in year 1 and one whom will start in foundation stage this September.

Rebecca has a sound knowledge of ICT and believes this will be an asset to the school. She has a keen interest in the wellbeing of the school and its pupils, and is passionate that all children should receive the very best education available to them. 




Julie Swinbank


Julie Swinbank is the Staff Governor. Her current role within school is EYFS Lead and R.E. Lead. She is a member of the SLT and has joint responsibility for the school’s P.S.H.E curriculum. Throughout, Julie has attended Governors Meetings as both guest and Staff Governor, continuing to strategically enhance school improvement.


Lucinda Kirk

“I’m Lucinda kirk and I am a parent governor.  I wanted to get involved so I could contribute towards the future for children in our town.  I work in Human Resources and share what I know to make the school a great place to be.”


Nickey Hebb

“I am a parent governor and have 2 children in the school currently.  I am a Specialist Paramedic and work within the local community.  I am committed to the school and dedicated to making our school a great place for our children to learn.”


Stephen Rawson

“I am a Local Authority nominated governor who has lived in and around Richmond for the last 25 years.  All 3 of my children have attended and received a fantastic education at Richmond Methodist School and I felt it would be great to be able to assist and help the school to continue to deliver to current and future generations.”


Kathleen Bradley

I’ve lived and worked in Richmond for most of my life, and have two children attending Richmond Methodist.  Having moved my eldest child from another school in early 2018, I have a drive and passion to support the school to provide excellent learning – both academically and socially – for every child in the school.  Having a family business in the town, I was co-opted to join the Governing Board in early 2019 and hope to use my background in communication and business to support the school to achieve it’s vision to provide an outstanding environment for our children to thrive and grow.


Les Cutter

Les Cutter is married with 7 children and 8 grandchildren. Les has 40+ years' experience in International business development, in the field of Information Technology. In the past 14 years he has worked in the Humanitarian Aid sector, which has given him a sound understanding of the immense challenges that NGO’s face managing their business, serving the most vulnerable,  with dignity and compassion, whilst remaining accountable to all stakeholders. Les has a passion for children’s education and hopes that his multicultural business experience will contribute towards maintaining the high standards of teaching and child support given at Richmond Methodist Primary school.
